Terms of Service

These terms are the agreement between you and Schroeder Counseling, LLC (“we” or “us”). They apply when you use this website, book or pay for a class or assessment, or sign in to your client portal. Our Refund & Cancellation Policy and our Privacy Policy are part of these terms. By booking, paying, or using your portal, you agree to them. If something here is unclear, call us. We would rather explain it than have you guess.

What we provide

• Classes: anger management, domestic violence, theft awareness, and drug and alcohol education, held live on Zoom in programs of set hours.
• Assessments and evaluations: substance abuse assessments, drug and alcohol assessments, and driver's license evaluations. Each is a one-on-one appointment with a clinician, followed by a written report.
• Letters and verification: a letter of completion when you finish a program, and proof of enrollment or progress for your court, probation officer or attorney when you ask.

None of these is emergency care. If you are in crisis, call or text 988 (the Suicide & Crisis Lifeline), or call 911.

Your court's requirements

Your court, probation department or agency decides what it will accept. We can't decide that for them. Before you enroll, check your order or ask your probation officer about the program, the number of hours, the provider's credentials, and whether live online classes are allowed. If you are unsure, call us before you enroll and we will help you confirm it.

Your account and portal

• Give us your real name, email, phone number and court details, and keep them up to date. Your letter of completion carries the name you give us.
• Your portal is for you alone. Keep your email account secure: anyone who can open your email can use a sign-in link we send you.
• If you think someone else has used your account, tell us right away.

Booking and payment

• The price is shown before you pay. You pay online through Stripe, our payment processor, by card or with a payment plan such as Klarna or Affirm when one is offered.
• Your seat in a class is confirmed once it is paid, and the Zoom link comes with that confirmation.
• Any balance on your program has to be paid before we issue your certificate.

Refunds and cancellations

Refunds, cancellations, rescheduling and account credit are covered by our Refund & Cancellation Policy. It is part of these terms, and the version published on the day you paid is the one that applies to that payment. If you think a charge is wrong, please call us before you dispute it with your bank. Most problems can be fixed the same day.

Attending classes

• You need a computer, tablet or phone with a working camera and microphone, and a steady internet connection.
• Join from a private, quiet place and keep your camera on for the whole session. A class counts toward your hours when you attend it live with your camera on.
• Each class opens with a waiting room. Join under the name you registered with so the facilitator can let you in.
• The facilitator records attendance for every class. Your portal shows the hours you have finished.
• Respect the group. Don't record, photograph or share the class, or anything another participant says, and don't pass your class link to anyone else.
• The facilitator may remove anyone who is disruptive or unsafe. A class you are removed from may not count toward your hours.
• Missed a class? There is no fee. Book the next date in your portal.

Assessments and evaluations

• Join your appointment on time, from a private place.
• Answer honestly. Your report reflects the clinician's professional judgment, based on what you share and your screening results. A particular result can't be requested or bought. If you disagree with a finding, we will explain how it was reached.
• Rescheduling and missed appointments follow the Refund & Cancellation Policy.

Certificates and letters

• We issue your letter of completion once you have finished every hour your program requires and your balance is paid.
• Each letter carries a Certificate ID. Your court, probation officer or anyone else can check it at schroedercounseling.com/verify, which shows the name, program, hours and completion date we issued.
• Don't alter a letter. The verify page shows what we actually issued.
• We may withdraw a letter that was issued in error, or when a correction to your attendance means the requirement is no longer met. A withdrawn letter shows as withdrawn on the verify page.

Sharing with your court or referring agency

If a court, probation department or agency referred you, we ask you to sign a release so they can see your progress: whether you signed up, your class dates and attendance, the hours you have finished, and your letter of completion. For an assessment, they can also see its results and recommendations. A release lasts one year unless you cancel it sooner in writing to info@schroedercounseling.com. Your classes don't depend on signing it.

We may also share information when the law requires it. How we collect, use and protect your information is explained in our Privacy Policy. Records of substance use programs may also be protected by federal law (42 CFR Part 2).

Messages from us

We email and text you about your bookings, class reminders, payments, documents and certificates. Message frequency varies, and message and data rates may apply. Reply STOP to stop texts, or HELP for help. Marketing emails have an unsubscribe link.

Our materials

Class handouts, worksheets and other materials are for your own use in your program. Please don't copy, sell or post them.

If something goes wrong

If we have to cancel a class, we will help you book another date at no charge. We work to keep this website, your portal and our Zoom classes running, but we can't promise they will never be interrupted.

As far as the law allows, we are not responsible for indirect losses, and our total responsibility for any claim is limited to what you paid us for the service involved. Nothing in these terms takes away rights the law gives you that can't be waived.

Changes to these terms

We may update these terms. The new version will be posted here with a new date. The version published on the day you paid is the one that applies to that payment.

Michigan law

These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Michigan.
