What Is Prime For Life?
Prime For Life® is an alcohol and drug education program created by Prevention Research Institute (PRI). It is judgment-free and practical. It asks how alcohol and drug problems develop, why one person's risk is higher than another's, and which choices protect the things you care about.
The program draws on motivational interviewing, persuasion research and cognitive behavioral therapy. Courts, probation departments, schools and employers use it, and several states use it in their DUI programs.
Our Prime For Life class is taught live on Zoom by Jennifer Schroeder, M.S., CADC, who completed PRI's Prime For Life New Instructor Training in September 2026. Every student uses the Prime For Life participant workbook, and it's included in the price.

What Clients Say on Google
Prime For Life is new here, so these are real Google reviews from clients of Jennifer's other live classes.
“I had such a great experience with Jennifer, who completed my substance abuse evaluation. From the moment we started, she made me feel comfortable, heard, and completely free of judgment. … She was thorough while still being kind, patient, and respectful throughout the entire process.”
“Jennifer is a genuine person who understands what the individuals in her class are going through. She helps you realize that what you were doing wasn’t working, and it took something to get you to address it. In a difficult process her class was a real blessing.”
“I had to see Jennifer for court and it was a fantastic experience. She seems to really care and she has a great sense of humor.”

Prime For Life® is an alcohol and drug education program created by Prevention Research Institute (PRI). It looks at how alcohol and drug problems develop, what raises a person’s risk, and how to make choices that protect the things you care about. Courts, probation departments, schools and employers use it, and several states use it in their DUI programs.
Yes. Our Prime For Life class is live on Zoom, led by Jennifer Schroeder, M.S., CADC, who completed Prevention Research Institute’s Prime For Life instructor training. It is not a self-paced video course. Before you book, check that whoever ordered your class allows a live online class.
Your court or probation officer decides. If your order names Prime For Life, ask them whether a live online class counts and how many hours you need before you book. On request, we can send information about the class to your court, attorney or probation officer.
Choose 8, 12, 16, or 20 hours, whichever your paperwork lists. Prevention Research Institute’s versions run from 4.5 to 20 hours. The 4.5-hour version is a separate edition for teens and parents, so if your paperwork calls for it, call (734) 834-6934 before you book.
It costs $175 for 8 hours, $250 for 12 hours, $325 for 16 hours or $400 for 20 hours. The Prime For Life participant workbook is included, with no separate fee.
Yes. Every Prime For Life student uses the participant workbook from Prevention Research Institute during class, and it is included in the price.
No. Some states, including Georgia, Iowa and Kentucky, use Prime For Life in their own DUI programs, which must be completed through a provider approved in that state, often in person. Our class is not one of those programs. If your requirement comes from a DMV, the Secretary of State, or a state DUI program, confirm with them before you book.
Both are live on Zoom with Jennifer, and the same number of hours costs the same. Choose Prime For Life when your paperwork names it: you use the Prime For Life participant workbook, and your letter of completion names the Prime For Life program. If your paperwork asks for a general alcohol or drug education class, choose our drug and alcohol awareness class.
When you enroll, we email a Proof of Enrollment letter you can show your court or probation officer. The day you finish your hours, we email your signed letter of completion. It names the Prime For Life program, your hours and your completion date, with a certificate ID anyone can check at schroedercounseling.com/verify.
Only if your order asks for one. If it says “assessment,” “evaluation” or “follow all recommendations,” start with a substance abuse evaluation, not a class. We offer evaluations online too.
Some counties and schools offer free Prime For Life classes, often for teens and usually in person. If whoever ordered your class runs or recommends one, ask about it first. Our live online class starts at $175 for 8 hours and includes the workbook, verified attendance and a signed letter of completion.
