About the class
Schroeder Counseling offers drug and alcohol awareness classes online to Colorado residents. You join live, interactive sessions led by Jennifer Schroeder, M.S., CADC. The class is built for people who must complete substance awareness education, for example after a drug possession charge, a minor in possession (MIP) case, an underage drinking offense, or a substance-related probation violation. It is education, not treatment.
What you’ll learn
The evidence-based curriculum covers how drugs and alcohol affect the body and brain. You learn to recognize patterns of substance use and abuse. You explore the stages of addiction. You see how impaired driving harms victims and communities. You review the legal consequences of DUI/DWI and drug offenses. You practice responsible decision-making. You build healthy coping strategies to prevent future substance-related offenses.

You may be court-ordered to take a drug and alcohol awareness class in Colorado. It could be for underage possession, MIP, a drug paraphernalia charge, or another substance-related offense. The class comes in 4, 8, 12, or 16-hour lengths, with evening and weekend times that fit around your work and family. Your certificate
Your signed certificate is issued the same day after you complete all required sessions and your attendance is verified. Each certificate lists your full name, total hours, session dates, and curriculum description. It also shows our counselor's credentials and verification details. On request, we send program information to your court, probation officer, or diversion coordinator.
