How many hours should you choose?
Without a court order, you choose. If an employer or school named a number of hours, book that number. If not, 4 hours is a good introduction, and 8 or 12 hours gives you time to practice the skills between sessions.
A 4-hour class is done in one live session. Longer programs start with a 4-hour live intake, then live 1-hour sessions — up to 5 a week — so an 8-hour program can be done in about a week and a 52-hour program in about 10 weeks.
Prices for the anger management class:
- 4 hours: $100
- 8 hours: $175
- 12 hours: $250
- 16 hours: $325
- 26 hours: $525
- 52 hours: $1,050
What the class is like
Classes are live on Zoom and led by Jennifer Schroeder, M.S., CADC, with discussion and practical exercises. You join from home and can ask questions as you go.
Is a class the same as counseling?
No. An anger management class is education: you learn skills and practice them. If anger is tied to trauma, depression, substance use or a crisis at home, one-on-one counseling with a mental health professional may help more, alongside a class or instead of one. If you or someone else is in danger, call 911. The National Domestic Violence Hotline is 1-800-799-7233.
You still get a certificate
Your signed letter of completion is emailed to you the day you finish your hours, with a certificate ID anyone can check at schroedercounseling.com/verify. That helps if an employer or school asked for proof.
