How Many Weeks Is a 26- or 52-Hour Class?

By

Published 2 min read

The short answer

A 26- or 52-hour class is measured in hours, not weeks. At Schroeder Counseling, after a 4-hour first class you can book up to 5 one-hour classes a week, so a 26-hour class takes at least 5 weeks and a 52-hour class at least 10. If your order says 26 or 52 weeks, call before you book.

Hours, not weeks

If your order names a number of hours, that number is the requirement. A 26-hour class is 26 hours of live class time, and a 52-hour class is 52. Your letter of completion lists the hours you attended, so what counts is the time you spend in class, not the number of weeks on the calendar.

Schroeder Counseling’s anger management and domestic violence classes come in 4, 8, 12, 16, 26, or 52 hours. The 26-hour class is $525 and the 52-hour class is $1,050.

How many weeks will it take?

It depends on how often you attend, but there is a limit to how fast the hours can go. Your first class is 4 hours. After that, you can book up to 5 one-hour classes a week, each on a day after your first class.

At that pace, the 22 hours left in a 26-hour class take at least 5 weeks, and the 48 hours left in a 52-hour class take at least 10 weeks. Attending less often takes longer. Your letter of completion is issued the day you finish your last required hour.

You pick your first class as you book. After that, the remaining class times appear in your client portal, and you book them there. If you have a deadline, start early and look at the class times right away. If it is tight, call (734) 834-6934 so we can tell you what is on the schedule.

When your order says weeks

Some orders ask for a 26-week or 52-week program instead of a number of hours. A weeks-based order often describes a longer program, such as a batterer intervention program (BIP or BIPP), which can be a different requirement from an hours-based class.

Schroeder Counseling’s domestic violence class is an education class, not a batterer intervention program. If your paperwork says weeks, BIP or BIPP, or asks for a certified provider, call us at (734) 834-6934 before you book, and check with your probation officer or attorney.

What you receive when you finish

Every class is live on Zoom with Jennifer Schroeder, M.S., CADC. Your letter of completion lists the program, the hours you completed and your completion date, and it carries a certificate ID that anyone can check at schroedercounseling.com/verify.
