Substance Abuse Evaluation & Drug and Alcohol Assessment in Maryland
Substance abuse evaluation and drug and alcohol assessment online for Maryland residents. A CADC-certified counselor writes your report using ASAM criteria. Standard reports arrive within 5–7 business days, or 48–72 hours with Fast Track. Acceptance is up to your court or probation officer, so confirm before you book.
Who it’s for
Schroeder Counseling provides court-ordered substance abuse assessments and drug and alcohol evaluations to Maryland residents. A CADC-certified counselor runs each assessment. We do assessments for DUI, OWI, and DWI cases, drug possession charges, probation, pre-sentencing evaluations, and diversion program screenings.
What the assessment covers
Each assessment includes a clinical interview and a detailed substance use history review. It uses standardized screening tools and DSM-5 diagnostic screening. It measures your risk level. It recommends a level of care based on ASAM (American Society of Addiction Medicine) criteria. The written report is prepared for your court, probation officer, or attorney.
Online and private
Our online substance abuse assessments run on HIPAA-compliant secure video. Your assessment may be ordered for a DUI, drug possession, MIP (minor in possession), probation violation, or pre-sentencing requirement. In every case, you get a professional, unbiased clinical assessment and a written report. If your order names a specific evaluator or agency, or says the assessment must be in person, check with your court or probation officer before you book.
Your report
Standard reports are delivered within 5–7 business days. If you have a deadline, the Fast Track option ($250) delivers your report within 48–72 hours. Each report includes the counselor's credentials and diagnostic findings. It also gives ASAM level of care and treatment recommendations. On request, we send it straight to your court, probation officer, or attorney.
For Maryland courts
If your case is in a court in Maryland, such as Montgomery County Circuit Court, Baltimore City Circuit Court, or Prince George's County Circuit Court, you can complete your assessment online from home. Each court sets its own rules, so confirm with your court or probation officer that an online assessment fits your order. The report format stays the same whichever Maryland court or probation department asked for it.
Anywhere in Maryland
We serve clients in Baltimore, Columbia, Germantown, Silver Spring, and Waldorf, spanning Baltimore City, Howard County, Montgomery County, and Charles County, and every other community in Maryland. Assessments run on secure video. So your city and how rural your county is do not affect your access or how fast you get your report.

We can send information about the assessment straight to your court, probation officer, or attorney on request.
Your court order or probation instructions will say. Courts often order an assessment in DUI/DWI, drug possession, and minor in possession (MIP) cases, and for substance-related probation violations. It can also be ordered before sentencing or for a diversion program. If your paperwork is unclear, ask your attorney or probation officer, or call us at (734) 834-6934.
